MAY 25, 2008 IRISH AMERICA

This week's show will be our official start of IRISH AMERICA on BlogTalkRadio. We are very grateful to BlogTalkRadio for offering the forum for so many radio hosts to bring a variety of shows to the public.

As part of our oral tradition and specifically as part of our storytelling segment, we will begin with our first guest: Jean Harrington, author of THE BAREFOOT QUEEN.

Join us to hear a portion of the story, and hear from Jean Harrington where and how this story flowed from her. You will enjoy it, and will find yourself ording the book for yourself or a loved one who loves Irish history!

Join us too for original music, poetry, and periodic words of wisdom from Nellie Farrell herself!

Sunday at 4 PM EDT at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/irishamerica

Bring a cup or a glass, tap your feet, and come share in the traditions.

Callers are welcome, and a live chat room is open at 3:30 PM for those who wish to join in.

See ya Sunday!

Irish America First Segment

This morning I recorded the first segment of "Irish America" the live internet radio show dedicated to Irish American heritage, our music, and culture. It was a short segment to test sound and simply introduce the show.

It is said that one in every five or more Americans has an Irish grandparent. That's a rich heritage for our country, and while we are Americans, it is joy to celebrate our roots, and the culture and traditions we have within us. This show is inspired by my own Irish grandparents, and particularly my grandmothers, Nellie Farrell who passed the traditions to our family, and Ann Lawlor who passed a great strength to her children and grandchildren. Two great women from a culture of great women.

This show will share music, stories, family histories, and the lives of Irish Americans.

This is intended to be a joyful program and an inspiration to those new to America--Failte!
